back door ˈˌbak ˈdô(ə)r/ noun noun: backdoor 1. the door or entrance at the back of a building. 2. a feature or defect of a computer system that allows surreptitious unauthorized access to data. Seems like a backdoor to me. The reality is that the way it is implemented allows a foreign government to see messages it is not supposed to see...and that is a defect. I thank the Guardian for taking the lead on this and bring this issue to light.
