We have this, it's called SMTP and IMAP.
If you feel (as I do) that they haven't sufficiently adapted to the current era, why do you think any other open protocol would be able to change more easily?
- peterschroeder 10y agoGood point. Things like that are great for people who understand them, we just want to make it easily accessible for the average consumer.
