Last year I wrote my own Vim plugin manager vimanage [1] that uses Pathogen and was wondering if it will still work with Vim 8. Apparently both Pathogen and vimanage work (meaning Vim didn't break the backward compatibility) but I like the idea of losing the dependency to Pathogen so I guess I have some work to do.
