  Still, it’s safe to say that the majority of orders placed through the Apple Online Store are for the iPad. Yeah, I don't really follow the logic there.

    majority is anything >50% . there is a big difference between 51% and lets say 85%. We need to stop ignoring these analysts that make up retarded facts or act as if they have an army of people leaking them rumors.

    Searching on Twitter yields quite a bit of results for "ipad pre-ordered" May be someone can use the API to get an exact number.

        We don't know, but it wouldn't surprise me if the early adopter crowd has a lot of overlap with the twitter crowd. That said, I don't think it's worth trying to estimate sales that way

    Yeah. Assuming orderID's are sequential, you'd at least want a bunch of data bout how many orders per hour there are on a typical day.
