Note there's a strong selection bias for people who post on HN. There's definitely plenty of ways to get laid... but you need a sourcing mechanism. Typically that's people from your hobbies or from your social circles... and hopefully those circles are gender-neutral and in your age range. :) Disclaimer: I am a techie with very artsy hobbies.
