- rhaps0dy 11y agoIn the video, he shows the standard coloring for vim. That coloring is indeed flashy and more distracting than no coloring at all. I tried having no syntax highlighting for a few months, and it was usable, but not as good as with syntax highlighting.

A lot of the problems I have with Vim and syntax highlighting is using VT100 or badly configured graphics systems. Personal taste, one style I do use is the old Borland colours which came out with Turbo Pascal.
